Chasing your Lion

lion chase

What would you do if you were face to face with a lion? I think it’s safe to say RUN!  Yesterday I finished an awesome book titled Chase the Lion by Mark Batterson.  I must say, it was one of the most thought provoking books I’ve read in a while.  In the beginning of the book, Batterson told the Biblical story of Benaiah, who stood toe to toe with a lion.Benaiah ultimately defeated the lion and his life changed forever after that day.  Chase the Lion is a unique read that compares our personal dreams to a lion, while encouraging the reader to either run from their lion or chase it.

Growing up, I repeatedly heard people say they were “dream chasing”.  Until now, I never thought of it as a life or death situation. Batterson stressed that we are all one idea, one risk, one decision away from a totally different life.  Every so often we convince ourselves that our dreams are impossible, other times we allow others to do the convincing for us.

What idea, risk, or decision are you on the brink of making for your own life to change completely?   Today I encourage you to courageously chase your personal lion.  Block out self-doubt, and the naysayers.  It’s just you and your lion.

Happy chasing!

Now my reading list just grew. I have been the one to either talk myself out of something or allowed other people to talk me out of them. Not anymore! But because I relate to the post, I’m curious about the book. Thanks for posting! Its funny because I relate to this post and wrote on the topic of friendship, like your post below this one.
